Rob Kunstadt’s Born to Rock Bass Guitar on Display at the MET

Rob Kunstadt (TC) reports that his patented invention, the Born to Rock bass guitar (this one owned by Steve Miller) is on display in the MET’s current exhibition Play It Loud. According to the exhibit’s description, “Born to Rock’s patented design relies on a lightweight aluminum tube frame that holds the strings at tension over a tension-free neck, which avoids the warping associated with wooden instruments. The open, skeletal design has no conventional headstock, and the tuners are mounted below the bridge at the bottom of the body.” For more information, go to the Met’s website and search the Play It Loud exhibition.
