Bruce Hesselbach Publishes First Novel
November 14, 2013 in Notes, Publications
In August 2013, my first novel, Perpetual Motion, was published by
Cogwheel Press. It is a steampunk novel set in Switzerland and Germany
from 1876 to 1889, a love story between a time traveler’s daughter and a
doomed inventor threatening to help Germany win the Great War.
This has been an active literary year for me. I was a storyteller at a local
storytelling night, read at the Brattleboro Literary Festival, and was a presenter
at the Waltham MA steampunk festival, as well as two other venues.
I’ve been living in Newfane Vermont since 1989; wrote a book about
hiking in 2005; and have now climbed 496 different mountains.
My wife Carol (Vassar 1972) and I have two adult children and two
grandkids to help keep us jolly.
