Robert Stucky (PC) Publishes Novel — And Other News
June 2, 2014 in Notes, Publications
Not having submitted anything for several years I figured now was a good time to catch up. I was happily remarried in Paris in 2005 to a wonderful woman from Spain. Pitina and I have a 13 year old son, Francisco. With a Muslim colleague from Mecca, I published a paper Reductionism, Globalization and Faith- exploring how each culture reduces its experience of the divine to a formula, declares it universal and yet insists on the superiority of its formula to all others- an oxymoron that There is One God, but my God is better than yours! I have been working as a medical interpreter, educator, and cultural competence advocate at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore since 2007, and have just published my first novel- A Complicated Legacy- through Amazon. It is a true story about a South Carolina planter before the Civil War who never married, fell in love and had a family with one of his slaves, and then successfully fought his white relations, public opinion and the legal system to free his family of choice and leave them his entire estate. Feedback and reader reviews are always welcome. – Robert Stucky (PC)
