Steven Brill Tackles Health Care in ‘America’s Bitter Pill’
February 4, 2015 in Notes, Publications
In January, classmate Steven Brill published his latest book, “America’s Bitter Pill: Money, Politics, Backroom Deals, and the Fight to Fix Our Broken Healthcare System” (512 pages. Random House. $28.) In her review of the book in the NY Times Sunday Book Review, Zephyr Teachout (Fordham Law School Professor and former New York mayoral candidate) calls the book, “a superb guide to the maze of issues in American health care and health care reform.” In the Science section of the NY Times, Abigail Zucker, M.D., says, “For those who believe forewarned is forearmed, the veteran journalist Steven Brill has put together a comprehensive and suitably furious guide to the political landscape of American health care circa 2014 — a tour de force inspection of both sausage and factory.”
