I’m thrilled to share some of my own good news: I became a grandfather for the first time on Saturday, March 31. Our daughter Elana ’06 gave birth to baby boy Noam at Yale New Haven Hospital. My son-in-law and the proud father is Dr. Benjamin Israelow, who is finishing up his residency at Yale New Haven and will become a fellow at YNH in the fall. Elana is on leave from law practice at Wiggin and Dana and from Quinnipiac Law School, where she has been working in a juvenile justice clinical program. Elana, Noam and Ben are doing well and I expect we will be spending more time in New Haven in the months and years ahead. Other good news: We look forward to the marriage of Eli ’10 and his fiancee Astrid Schanz-Garbassi on Memorial Day in the Berkshires. They live in San Francisco and are entrepreneurs who began startups, Eli in education and Astrid in the food business.
