Paul Kimmel Reports on Publications and Other News

PAUL KIMMEL (DC) REPORTS: “This has been a remarkable year for me, highlighted both by great joys and sadness. A comprehensive textbook, Chronic Renal Disease, edited by me and Mark Rosenberg (Academic Press) has garnered some nice feedback. We have high hopes for this book. I published, with colleagues, a review on acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease in the New England Journal of Medicine. Finally, I was able to celebrate the accomplishments of Dr David Baldwin, the man who inspired me to enter the field of nephrology forty years ago, and a founder of the clinical discipline, in an homage published in a specialty journal. And yet, timely and untimely deaths in our social circle marred our happiness. I look forward to a New Year that is happier than the last, wish the same to all classmates, and intend to learn more about cricket with friends this spring in the Philadelphia suburbs.”
