Rob Bildner Visits Steve Calkins in Dublin
October 9, 2014 in Notes, Photo galleries
“Elisa and I enjoyed a bike trip in Ireland in early September, covering about 200 miles in the hilly Southwest, including parts of the Ring of Kerry. On our last night in Dublin, we had dinner and listened to music at one of Dublin’s oldest pubs, The Brazen Head, with Steve Calkins and his wife Joan Wadsworth. Steve has a fascinating job in Dublin as a Commissioner of Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, while he is on leave from his academic position in the US. Steve and Joan said they would be delighted to see any other class members visiting Dublin. Take them up on it – they are gracious, informative hosts, Dublin is lots of fun and the Guiness tastes much better in Ireland!”
