Scottie Addison (MC) is Re-Cranking His Career

March 10, 2019 in Notes

NEWS FROM SCOTTIE ADDISON (MC):
It is the boon and bane of an old-school Planner to move ideas before their time and endure the inertia of public affairs. I can claim a few miraculous successes and more luminous failures in accord. It’s hard to know when their time has come… it seems to be now.
I have persisted with challenging community development projects and bleeding-edge work in support of free assembly and 1st Amendment protections – all the more urgent in these times of economic imbalance, of eroding rights and the systemic assault on the Commons. In the quest for competent allies, Yale spoiled us… such comrades are hard to find in the ‘real world’.
So as classmates are retiring from rewarding careers, I am re-cranking mine: I have good research to render, writings to complete, strategies to launch, stuff to design and build… there is much work to do with little money, butt it’s Legacy Time.
After a tough bout last year, hospitalized Nov.-Dec.’17 with a post-surgical infection and healing over a long haul thereafter, I am strong but gimpy now – readying for deferred orthopedic work this spring, going for a full fix: I will be a bionic dude and deal with rehab like a good jock… planning a comeback as a switch-hitting 3rd Baseman, but my Linebacker days are probably over.
