No grades, tests, mandatory attendance, or required readings: if we had gone to Princeton we could have taken historian Martin Duberman’s undergraduate seminar.  But you can read about it now in Bob Hampel’s (GH) new book, Radical Teaching in Turbulent Times (Palgrave Macmillan, Fall 2021).  Bob (HC) interviewed 30 former Duberman students and colleagues, used the Princeton archives, and ransacked the extensive Duberman Papers.  Conversations with the 91 year old historian (Yale, 1952) enlivened the research, and Bob plans to continue studying his life in 2022 and beyond.
